This page gives a short summary on each of the main characters of The Southern Lands books.

Teern

Teern Truthbringer is an 18 year old soldier, 6′ 2″ tall with green eyes and long ginger hair, tied in braid. He is very muscular. He carries the ‘Sword of Deliverance’ – it has the mark of a winged cobra
Currently living in Treloon, Triluika and has been alive for 500 years
He was given the gift of living unlimited lives until he finds ‘Xannu’ (the one who will fulfill the prophesies)
Maintains his age and looks while Xannu is not found. After that he will age normally and die like any other person

Ariana

Ariana is a Princess of Vandor, 15 years old and lives in the city of KA’Truin
She has shoulder length golden blond hair, blue eyes, is a tom boy, muscular, excellent swimmer and swordsman
Her handmaiden is named Moll and she has two personal bodyguards, Stanton and Tenshun
Her parents are King Annut II & Queen Betrina and her brothers are named Skuul and Mordrin

Matthius

Matthius was born in F’Al, F’Or and is 14 years old, the brother of Selene
He is barely 5’ tall and is a weak, pallid looking boy with curly fair hair and brown eyes
He is in training to be a Holy Priest at the High Church of F’Al – and will be sent to KA’Truin at the end of his studies
Matthius discovers he has magical gifts foretelling the future by way of nightmares. He later discovers he can protect himself with a thought forcefield if in danger and can conjure fire from metal
His grandfather used to be a Holy Priest and his friends in training are Benjamin and Thomas, and his arch-rival is Jannus

Selene

Selene was born in F’Al, F’Or
She is 16 years old, the sister of Matthius
She has very long red hair, is 6’ tall, athletic and has olive skin
She is training to be a scholar at Library of F’Al
Selene is very protective towards diminutive Matthius and loves sword fighting with her sparring friend, Daffid

Maria

Maria was born in Caipor, Triluika
She is a young woman, 20 years old with long dark hair, brown eyes, and a gentle face
Maria is a Mother of Perception and soothsayer - she has limited magic, prediction and healing abilities
She wears a red robe, trimmed with yellow as a Mother of Perception
She is a very determined person and was orphaned at 10, raised by her aunt, and left home at 13 after being promised in marriage to Malachi
She lives in small room on 4^th floor of Crown Inn in Caipor

Vixxa

Vixxa is a Seductress and Sorceress from the island of Tane
She is pixie-like and only 5’ tall, slim and svelte
She has ragged below-the-shoulder length black hair, hazel eyes and pointed ears
She also has a large tattoo on her forehead (pentagram – air, spirit, earth, water, fire)

Terry

Terence Ernest West lives in England. He is a 12 year old boy, 5′ 2″ tall with green eyes and ginger mop hair
He lives at 27 Tulip Avenue, Bottleford, England, a 10 minute walk from school
His parents are always out at work and he is left to himself a lot
He is called ‘Munchkin’ by his Mum and his best friend is Joe
His schoolwork is OK, but he is not the most popular boy in class

Joe

Joe Nathan Simmons is Terry’s best school friend
He is 12 years old, 5’ 3” tall, has brown eyes, short dark hair, and is slightly tubby
Joe speaks with a ‘common’ accent – typical – ‘I’m not telling’em nothing. Me Dad’ll kill me.’
He lives in a council house on Wellington Estate. The house stinks of cigarette smoke, has 2 bedrooms, and Joe has a divorced mother

Susan

Susan is the brother of one of Terry’s classmates and is a year younger than him
She wants to be Terry’s girlfriend but goes to a different school
She is tall, dark haired, with a quiet voice and sends Terry notes via her brother
